As part of CO3’s commitment to succession planning, CO3 is facilitating an action learning network for members of Senior Management Teams (SMT). Last year we ran a pilot SMT group when CO3 brought together a group of senior managers together with an expert facilitator, Roger Courtney, to manage the sessions.  The pilot programme was extremely successful as testified by some of the feedback we received:

About the Event: John Cook, who sets the forward news schedule for UTV Live, joins CO3 members to give an insider’s perspective on the News Cycle, News Decisions and how third sector leaders can impact on this cycle to have sector stories aired. With case studies and unrivalled insight into how a leading news programme is put together, this will be a comprehensive briefing session to help you think about how you can lead more effective public relations in your organisation.

CO3, the representative body of third sector chief executives has welcomed the CBI’s ‘Time for Action’ report.

Commenting Majella McCloskey, Director of CO3 said:

“This is an important report that all leaders in Northern Ireland must give credence to. CO3 agrees with Terence Brannigan’s assertion that it will be in working together that government, the public, private and third sectors can face down the grave economic challenges with which we are confronted."

Anne O'Reilly

In a recent Interview for the Business Insight section of the Irish News, one of CO3's Board Members, Anne O'Reilly, answered questions on her career to date:

What was your first job?

My first job after I left university was as a care worker in a residential home.

What qualifications do you have?

I’m a trained teacher and social worker. I also have an MSC in Leadership and Management. It’s so far back I can hardly remember!

For Northern Ireland to truly emerge with a stronger and more robust economy after the biggest global recession since the Second World War it will require all sectors that contribute to GDP to be innovative and bold in how they re-invigorate the local economic landscape.

We are delighted to be offering the ILM Level 5 in Coaching and Mentoring again starting January 2022. This course has been heavily subsidised by Halifax Foundation for Northern Ireland, thank you for making this possible.

Please note this course is for leaders in the third sector only. Contact us if you are unsure if this is you.

Delivery method: This programme will be delivered online. Each day of the programme will be a combination of live, facilitated sessions with some self-directed learning and reflection activities.
This programme is an opportunity to pause and reflect on your leadership. It will help you to strengthen your coaching approach, gaining greater personal insight, different perspectives and increased self-awareness so you can lead and develop others even more effectively.

It is also an opportunity to identify how you can build your resilience and practice self-care as busy leaders. Delivered with an interactive approach, you will work with and learn from peers to explore a range of practical concepts and approaches. This programme relies on the group supporting each other to learn and develop and build a community of established leaders.

Save the Date - Carnegie UK Trust Conference

“What Kind of Northern Ireland (NI) do we want”?

The Carnegie UK Trust (CUKT) was set up to improve the wellbeing of the people of the UK and Ireland. Over the past five years we have been working with partners in Northern Ireland on embedding a wellbeing approach in government.

We know that COVID-19 will have major long-term impacts for Northern Ireland communities, economy, and the delivery of essential public services. We are therefore hosting this event to explore key questions for improving wellbeing in Northern Ireland and share practical ideas for tackling the challenges ahead through a series of online discussions. Attendees will include civil society, government, business and academic leaders and practitioners. The discussions will be designed to be as inclusive as possible to support a range of experiences and views to be heard.

Using online workshops and roundtable discussions the project will identify and explore key questions, test assumptions and expectations about the post-COVID-19 future and start developing ideas and sharing practical plans for the challenges ahead.

Please 'Save the Date' for the Conference below.
