A Unique NEW Leadership Programme for Chief Executive Officers

The CO3 Senior Fellowship Programme is designed for Chief Executive Officers who wish to further develop their leadership skills, knowledge and confidence. This practical course involves 6 days training over a 6 month period, ongoing personal development actions throughout the programme, feedback from your organisation to help you assess performance, excellent trainers: Anne McMurray and Irene Hewitt, and ongoing involvement in the CO3 Senior Fellows Alumni.

Aim of programme

The aim is to build on participants’ existing leadership capability and further develop this through a mix of individual coaching and support, micro skills development, Master classes, peer consulting and experiential learning. The programme provides CEO’s with a safe and confidential space to work alongside their peers, challenging, supporting and learning from one another. The programme is suitable for those who have been in post for some time, affording them the opportunity to take a step back and reappraise themselves as well as giving those new into post the opportunity to learn in a practical manner and to benefit from the experience of peers.

This is the second of three programmes, 2012-2015, and from these a Leadership Network will emerge to act as a catalyst for the future of the sector.

Programme content

The programme is divided into 6 modules:

Introduction: Early Jan 2014, date tbc I hour – meet your fellow course participants in a relaxed setting over coffee and chat through the course outline

Identify your leadership style:  13 February 2014
Using specific diagnostic tools such as the Myers Briggs Type Indicator, a model of personality development, plus a 360 degree Appraisal which incorporates feedback from your organisation on your style of leadership combined with your own views.  This is followed by a one to one coaching session with one of the tutors to interpret the results of the appraisal and to set a personal plan for your development throughout the programme. The coaching session takes approximately 1.5 hours and is entirely confidential.

Leading From the Inside Out: 2 day Residential 23rd – 24th January 2014
An intensive two days which focuses on developing your leadership presence, skills and style and reviewing how to motivate both yourself and others.

Leading for Outcomes: 20th February 2014
Bespoke master classes including leading edge thinking and approaches to leadership in the Third Sector and how to apply these to leading your organisation into the future.

Leading Forwards: 27th March 2014
Best practice and application, utilising your skills, in leading the strategy, performance and culture needed by your organisation for success.

Leading for Excellence: 13th June 2014
Sharing leadership experience and insights from the programme and enabling participants to test insights with stakeholders.

Cost

£1250 CO3 Members
CO3 can consider invoicing for the programme over 2 financial years, if that assists applicants.

£2500 Non-Members

Typically a course of this design and duration would cost a minimum of £2,500. CO3 is pleased to be able to offer the entire programme, including the residential, materials, coaching, appraisal, assessment, CO3 Excelling as Chief Officers - Framework for Leadership Excellence©, access to the on-going CO3 Senior Fellowship Programme, as well as all meals for the cost of £1250*. We also are grateful for financial support from Lloyds TSB Foundation for Northern Ireland, which allows us to offer 4 bursaries for the programme, at the reduced fee of £700.

Irene Hewitt

Irene Hewitt is currently a senior leadership consultant with the Kings Fund, as well as an independent consultant in leadership and organisational development. Irene has an extensive background in leadership development in Northern Ireland and authored CO3's ‘Excelling as Chief Officers - Framework for Leadership Excellence©'.

Anne McMurray

Anne McMurray is an independent organisational development consultant, specialising in leadership and team development, strategy formulation and change implementation. She has developed a successful practice with clients across the north and south of Ireland, GB, Europe and Canada and has worked with CO3 on many occasions.
