CO3 Logo

About the Event: John Cook, who sets the forward news schedule for UTV Live, joins CO3 members to give an insider’s perspective on the News Cycle, News Decisions and how third sector leaders can impact on this cycle to have sector stories aired. The session will include:

  • The role of the news diary in shaping the news agenda
  • How to consider the 24/7, 365 day cycle of news
  • How news decisions about what makes a story ‘important’ are made
  • The people behind the news and your relationship with them
  • How to present a story, with DVD case studies to consider and discuss.
  • Preparing yourself and your organisation to deal with the media, including being ready for reactive as well as proactive stories
  • The role of the individual and ego in representing both the organisation and story in the media.
