Senator George Mitchell receives award from charity bosses

American statesman George Mitchell has been honoured for his contribution to the peace process at a special ceremony in Belfast.  

Senator Mitchell, who brokered the Good Friday Agreement, was presented with the award for leadership and peacebuilding by Andrew McCracken chair of CO3, which represents charity leaders.

Ecclesiastical launches the Movement for Good awards – giving over €1million to charities this summer

Specialist insurer Ecclesiastical is giving away over €1million to eligible charities registered in the UK and Republic of Ireland with the launch of its Movement for Good awards.

Launching Tuesday, 23rd April, members of the public can nominate a cause close to their hearts for a potential £1,000 award.

500 charities will each receive £1,000 during the first phase of the campaign, with the nomination process running until Friday 17 May.
