New to Post Service

Supporting Third Sector Leaders in their first 90 Days

This tailored service supports a new to post Chief Officer, providing a number of one-to-one support sessions during their first 90 days in post.

There is an abundance of literature that highlights how critical the first 90 days are for a new-to-post Chief Officer. A number of experts cite that a new leader's success or failure is determined within the first 90 days on the job. Many newly appointed Chief Officers have to learn on the job, in full view of every stakeholder. 

Therefore, CO3 is introducing a service that offers practical support to new-to-post Chief Officers during their first 90 days. The service is designed to support newly designated Chief Officers during this transition period in order to improve their chances of long-term success. 

Our experienced coaches have strong connections with the Third Sector, many of whom have previously worked as a Third Sector Chief Officer.
 
The service will be tailored to each individual and will provide support in the following key areas:

  • Establishing the foundations for strong and effective teamwork
  • Developing a strong relationship with the Board
  • How do avoid the pitfalls
  • Creating coalitions
  • Testing your organisation's culture
  • Change management
  • Financial management


The New to Post service is personalised to meet individual needs, with a selection of packages to best suit your needs. 

Package One - New to Post

CO3 will organise a one-to-one session with the relevant Board members and/or outgoing Chief Officer to help assess the priority needs during a two-hour session.
This will be followed by a one-to-one session with the Chief Officer to help to identify their initial impressions and expectations. This session will cover the key questions a new to post Chief Officer should ask, and from there the additional support services required will be discussed.
 
A further two one-to-one sessions will be held with the new to post Chief Officer, spanning over the 90-day period. It is recommended that one of the sessions involves both the Chair and the Chief Officer.This package consists of four one-to-one sessions. 

Package Two - New to Post 

CO3 will organise a one-to-one session with the relevant Board members and/or outgoing Chief Officer to help assess the priority needs during a two-hour session.

This will be followed by a one-to-one session with the Chief Officer to help to identify their initial impressions and expectations. This session will cover the key questions a new to post Chief Officer should ask, and from there the additional support services required will be discussed. 

A further four sessions will be held with the new to post Chief Officer over the 90-day period. It is recommended that one of the sessions involves both the Chair and the Chief Officer.This package consists of six one-to-one sessions.


Package Three - New to Post

A further six sessions will be held with the new to post Chief Officer, over the 90 day period. It is recommended that one of the sessions involves both the Chair and the Chief Officer.This package consists of eight one-to-one sessions.
