The Pros and Cons of Audit and Independent Examination

The terms Independent Examination and Audit are often used interchangeably. While they might sound like they’re the same, and they are both forms of external scrutiny, there are subtle but big differences.  Tony Clarke from Third Sector Finance will lead on information session for Trustees to remind you about the legal requirements for audited accounts for charities at different turnover levels and the different options for smaller organisations and the respective pros and cons.

Tony has gleaned a varied and wide range of professional experience in all industries not least in many areas within the charitable and third sector, proving him to be a valued business advisor to the sector, and has built up a vast professional reputation within the private, public and third sector.  Tony is a qualified Accounting Technician.

Tony’s committed to expanding his knowledge to his profession, also attending regular HMRC seminars to update and maintain his knowledge of the constant changes to the Revenue legislation.

Tony was co-opted onto the Board of Association of Charity Independent Examiners in 2018.
