CO3 Treasurers’ Forum

The Honorary Treasurer in a Third Sector organisation plays an important, but often unsung role. They help the trustee board to fulfil its obligation to provide financial oversight for the organisation. It is often the Treasurer to whom trustees look for advice, guidance and reassurance on all aspects of charities' financial management and reporting. The Treasurer also provides support for the Chair and Chief Executive.

Therefore, CO3 have recently set up a Treasurer’s Forum, to provide a platform for advice, support, to share expertise and to promote good practice.

The Treasurer’s Forum will be Chaired by Patrick Minne, NI Manager of Charity Bank and Treasurer for the CO3 Board.

The Treasurer’s Forum is kindly sponsored by Tony Clarke from Clarke & Co. Accountants.

To register for this Forum, please contact rachel@co3.bz

The forum meets quarterly the next meeting is:

Thursday 29 June 2017

The Forum is open to those who currently, in the recent past or expect in the near future to take on the important role of Treasurer.  It is open to all members within the CO3 Trustee Network.  We see this an important platform to provide helpful information through updates and briefings.

Patrick Minne

NI Manager

Charity Bank

Patrick Minne was appointed as Northern Ireland Manager of Charity Bank in October 2012, uniquely having come from a non-banking background.  He moved from the private sector to the third sector in 2007 when he was appointed CEO of A2B, an innovative blend of community development, training and web-based technology which helped older people identify and apply for more than £50m in previously unclaimed benefits in Northern Ireland. The learning from that environment, combined with his business experience serving the public sector, were what inspired him to join an organisation where he helps reduce grant-dependency in the third sector and contributes to its long term sustainability.

Patrick heads up the Bank's operations in Northern Ireland.  His qualifications include an MBA and an Advanced Diploma in Social Investment for the Third Sector.  His private sector experience includes senior management roles in finance IT project management, media monitoring, website management and software customer services. He provides consultancy and trusteeship to a number of Northern Ireland social sector organisations.
