CO3 Mentoring Programme 2009
As part of CO3 Leadership Development Initiative, to help its members to do their jobs to the highest standard,CO3 has embarked on a pilot Mentoring Programme to enable members to benefit from the experience and knowledge of their peers, either from within the CO3 network or from the public and private sectors.

The Programme started in March 2009 and will run for one year. It aims to provide mentees (those being mentored) with a confidential and safe environment to develop their leadership abilities.  Mentors will also benefit from taking part by further enhancing their communication, interpersonal, problem-solving and listening skills.

Up to twelve leaders of voluntary / community organisations can avail of a place on the mentoring programme, which will match leaders with other leaders on a project or issue specific basis for a 12 month period.

This years programme is fully subscribed however CO3 plans to run the programme again in 2010 so if you would you be interested in taking part then please contact us as names are being taken for a waiting list.

We are looking for Mentees who are facing a "new to them" situation or a specific issue and would like to work this through with the help from a Mentor.

We are looking for Mentors with the following attributes:

  • a willingness to listen and to share their knowledge and experience
  • a keen interest in others and a willingness to share their successes and failures (i.e. they do not claim to be perfect!)
  • an open-minded point of view and enthusiasm to explore new ideas or ways to do things differently.

Mentors will have an opportunity to reflect on their own personal development and gain a feeling of satisfaction in making a difference.

Mentors will be asked to meet with their  Mentee once a month over a period of up to one year.

This Programme is being managed for CO3 by Wendy McCulla of Aspire Learning & Development.
