Policy framework

A part of the remit of CO3 is to undertake public affairs work.  This is led and undertaken by our members.  CO3 has a policy framework to underpin public affairs work.  This policy has four strands that are:

1. CO3 will only undertake public affairs work where it is an issue of 'common concern or benefit' to a number of members of the association.

2.  The Board or members of the association will raise or identify an issue, which can then be brought to the attention of other members through a member's meeting or email discussion, where feedback will be sought as to the extent of the concern and whether CO3 should take this work forward.

3.  CO3 will not undertake public affairs work that is the remit of an organisation in the sector or duplicates existing activity, but only where it can add value to the issue and member's interests.

4. CO3 will ensure member involvement is at the core of public affairs work and that the Board and members are informed about public affairs activities.
